A former member of the Nigerian House of Representatives, Hon. Kafayat Abike Dabiri-Erewa has filed a five hundred million naira (N500, 000000) damage suit against Diamond Bank for falsely linking her to the ownership of a company ‘Thriller Endeavor’, on the premise that the company owes the bank to the tune of over hundred million naira.
The filing of the suit, which is scheduled to hold today at Lagos High Court, Igbosere at 11 am, addresses issues bordering on defamation of character on the person of Hon. Abike Dabiri.
It would be recalled that Punch Newspaper had on Tuesday, 4th of August, 2015 listed in its publication the names and companies purportedly owing banks Millions of Naira, and ‘Thriller Endeavor’ erroneously linked to Hon. Dabiri was included in the list.
In her swift reaction to this allegation, Hon. Abike Dabiri had written to the Punch Newspaper to debunk the story publicly. She also took to her twitter handle to inform Nigerians that she hasn’t even heard of the name of the purported company before.
