Following the recent redeployment of Mr. Hakeem Muri-Okunola from Lagos State Ministry of Lands to Lagos State Ministry of Youths and Sports by Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode, there have been speculations that this development may be due to some political reasons.
It would be recalled that last week, the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode had transferred the appointment of Muri-Okunola as the Permanent Secretary (PS) of a very lucrative Ministry of Lands to Ministry of Youths and Sports.
Some opined that though the position of the Permanent Secretary of Lagos State Ministry of Youths and Sports, which Muri-Okunola now occupies, is an essential one; it is not as lucrative as that of Ministry of Lands.
It was alleged that this may be connected to the resolved disputes among APC members instigated by the emergence of Senator Bukola Saraki as the Senate President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
It was alleged that Muri-Okunola had then promptly visited Senator Saraki to congratulate him, even when a faction loyal to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu were yet to accept his emergence as the Senate President. A very vital question that some might want to ask is that, is it possible that the sudden redeployment of Muri-Okunola means a price he has to pay for his alleged visit?
