Human trafficking is a serious crime and a grave violation to human right. Every year thousands of men,women and children falls into the hands of traffickers. It is a crime that is forcefully exploits.

Human trafficking is common in the western europe,the middle east, and west and central African countries. Nigeria States tend to provide more trafficked person than others, Akwa Ibom, Cross river, Delta, Edo, Imo, Ebonyi, Kano, Ogun, Oyo and Lagos state.

Although prostitution remains the biggest category for Nigeria female, who travel abroad.

It is estimated intermediary between 20 million and 40 million of people in modern slavery today. Accessing the full scope of human trafficking is difficult because it is a hidden figure of crime.

Globally an estimated 71% of enslaved people are women and girls while men and boys for 29%, advocate report a growing trend of traffickers using online social media as a platform to recruit and advertise human trafficking.

Estimate suggest that internationally 0.4% survival of Human trafficking case are identified means the vast majority of human trafficking go on detected. It involves the illegal trade of people for exploitation or commercial gain and is a $150 billion global industry.
Nigeria remain a source transit and destruction country when it comes to human trafficking.

PER the global slavery index (2018) report,Nigeria is 32/167 with the highest of slaves – 1,386,000 and it National agency of prohibition trafficking in person (NAPTIT) report that the average age of trafficked in Nigeria now upgraded to a tier two Countries of the US state.

Department National agency for the prohibition of trafficking in person(NAPTIT) is contends that 75% of those who are trafficked across the street,while 23% are trafficked within the state,only 2% of those are trafficking outside the countries according to NAPTIT, (2018).

The overwhelming majority of trafficking victims are migrant make treachous journey from Edo state (particularly Benin) and Delta state to Kano,from where thier smuggled to Niger or Algeria before transversing 500 miles over the Sahara desert into Libya.

CNN contends that Edo state is the most trafficked through destruction in Africa. In August 2017, the current Edo state governor Mr. Godwin Obaseki launched the Edo state Task force against human trafficking to fight the scourge of human trafficking and Unsafe migrants in the state.

According to my research gleaned from hundred survivors of sex trafficking in different state, poorly remain the number one factor rendering woman and girls vulnerable to sex trafficking. An ILO/IPEC records that 40% of Nigeria street children and hawkers are traffic persons.

Another factor is parental pressure, eroded, values, cultural acceptance of prostitution, limitation of education and economic opportunities combine to render young women and girls, vulnerable to being trafficked.

In 2018, the Nigeria government identified 934 victims of trafficked.
